My issues are as follows:

1. The nepo babies who don't acknowledge their advantage and act like it was all of their own accord

2. Especially in the arts it further limits an alreadyi.ited perspective.

3. Particularly annoying to see those lacking in talent skipping the line ie Brooklyn Beckham's photography book.

Yes, stick them in those jobs that don’t matter. Do you really want them building bridges? Same logic as sticking all the diversity hires in HR.

That might understandable for other professions, but for modeling it's obvious that these kids haven't quite inherited their parent's exceptional looks. It's not like they are using their inherited interests and learned skills to do any media job, they are basically stealing a spot meant for less than 0.1% of the population, across a decade or two. They're doing this using their family connections and best plastic surgeries that (family) money can buy.

This is, like, the actual point of a monarchy?

I so miss the supermodel era. The icons were often truly unconnected. Thinking about Supernova deep in Russia or Iman in Somalia. But even Cindy and Christy were just regular girls.

Nepotism is a reality and an easy way to earn big bucks.

I think it’s exactly this - between social media, streaming platforms/studios, traditional studios, and television the industry simply can’t get enough talent to draw eyeballs. Oh you have a famous parent? That’s a guaranteed 250K sets of eyeballs that will check out this project.

Once you have 500K engaged followers on social media, you have a built in baseline for success and profit.

I haven’t read the article but I saw bits of it on twitter and such. The nepotism doesn’t surprise me. It’s rife, after all, in every field. It’s the fact that these kittens want us to pretend along with (most of) them that they’ve done it all on their own, purely by skill. I don’t like being bull crapped.

And one assumes that the genuinely hideous and untalented will mostly fade away.

Wow, they devoted an entire issue to a series of articles about entertainment and sports nepo babies. This took A LOT of time to pull together
