For example, we had a holiday party on Saturday. 25 guests, 9 of which were kids. we have a beverage fridge in the basement, so we keep it stocked with craft beers, a ton of la croix (costco size), some coke, diet coke, ginger ale, cranberry juice, seltzer. Opened 1 bottle of white, 1 bottle of red wine. We ended up drinking 3 bottles of white and 1/2 the red.

I also had a hot chocolate bar with bailey's optional.

We have a bar stocked with whiskey, vodka, etc. People made mixed drinks with the sodas.

DP want to say this sounds perfect!

Similar to PP's hot cocoa, you can do a hot cider where ppl can add bourbon.

Mulled wine is great too - hot drinks in cold weather is my holiday fave! And it makes the whole kitchen smell great

Many many white wine drinkers do not like Pinot Grigio. I am a Chardonnay girl all the way!!!

For Christmas? Because my summer list is different. For brunch? For dinner? But I guess the remedial list is:
1. a cocktail that matches the event/time of day
2. 2 types of beer
3. wine that matches the event/time of day
4. seltzer or peligrino
5. water in a carafe on ice, often with seasonal fruit
6. if applicable, something for kids (lemonade?)

red wine, white wine, craft beer at a minimum for alcohol along with sparkling water. If you want to add more, vodka, tequila with mixers and bourbon. My friends would be ok with club soda/sparkling water to mix with tequila and vodka with tons of fresh lime. You could throw in a cranberry, grapefruit, or pineapple juice.

Mountain Dew Code Red to swill with dinner, for sure. Water isn’t thirst-quenching.

I do a lot of parties and apparently, my guests drink a lot. Here's the order things go at my parties.

1. Pitchers of some cocktail - depends on the season - vodka punch, moscow mules, sangria, margartias.
2. Good sipping whiskey/tequila for those who like it.
3. Prosseco and other sparkling wine if warm weather OR red wine if cold. NEVER buy wine. People bring it by the buckets. But have at least one bottle to start!
4. If men - decent beer.
5. Non-alcoholic - favorite by far is flavored sparkling water - Spindrift or Lacroix. Plain is good to have too. Italian Soda is a close second.
6. I keep tonic water, club soda, a few cokes, sprites & ginger ales.

Op here. Ok, I am dumb when it comes to drinks. I drink a lot a lot a lot of water. And not much else.

I feel I could improve on what drinks I have for guests.

I could give an example list but it would be bad. That’s why I am here.

Assume some people will write a version of this?
1. Wine that pairs well with food
2. Bottled water, or in a carafe with lemons
3. One pack of mini soda like coke or ginger ale
4. Zero sugar drink like spindrift or Coke Zero
5. Nicer beer
6. Cheap beer

I’m confused too. Must haves would be alcohol and food.

Entertaining guests and drinks.

What is the priority on items I should have on hand?

I’m looking for people to spout off their lists of must-haves, in order of most important to least important.

1. Pineapple
2. Banana
3. Sweet potato
4. Hamburger
And so forth.

Like that, but not random foods

Assume food is being served as well.
