My DS was waitlisted for Cornell RD last year for Engineering. Hard to believe he didn’t get in with a 4.6 and 18 AP classes but their loss was another schools gain. It all worked out!

My Kid did not ED got wait listed RD. So likely would have gotten in ED. She is there now as a transfer. ED if you want it. Kid loves the school. Transferred from a top 4-5 SLAC. No regrets.

At our school, Cornell ED unhooked admits actually occasionally occur. Can’t say the same really for other ivies. So I don’t think it’s a complete waste for ED.

My kid is interested in Cornell for next year.
Strong student but unhooked.
Is it better to just apply RD?
