Disagree. We did it for preschoolers and it was fun. Parents did stay.

Ugh, my kid was invited to a skate party at 5 and it was miserable. She was so cold and her butt hurt so much. She hasn't wanted to go skating since and she's 9!

I would never do an ice skating birthday party, sounds like a terrible idea to me. As a parent, I don't like to be in the cold anyway.

Of course you thought it was fun - you threw the party. The guests were probably annoyed.

St James? They have a hockey rink, and also birthday party packages (not sure if they do ice skating birthdays there, I’ve only been to regular indoor play type ones)

We are looking for an INDOOR facility to hold our 3rd grade kid's ice skating birthday party. We've been trying Medstar/Caps in Ballston for the past month and it has been very difficult to schedule... We previously held a party there for our older kid and it was very fun so still hoping it work out.

We have inquiries into the St. James and Cabin John.

We live in NW DC, but my kid attends a private school and classmates will be coming from Alexandria, Arlington, NW DC and Rockville - so really anywhere within a 45-minute drive of the Capitol works.

Any other ideas?
