There are and have been lower cost competitive soccer options. After tilting at this windmill for a while, my conclusion is the market is roughly providing what the youth soccer consumers want. If the consumer wants many high level prestige tournaments, full time soccer professionals, nice uniform kits etc - that all costs money.

Would you rather I lie to you? I agree with another poster about rec programs should be cheaper than they are, but I would rather pay for a program that is well organized and has field locations listed so I know I can actually get to the practices. If I don’t know where in the area the field is then how do I know if we can make the times. Some of us work so driving all over the area to get to a practice might not be possible.

Isn’t it wonderful that you are able to afford to pay for the program you choose? Not everyone has that luxury and some have to go with the free one with a bad website.

Rec soccer shouldn't be free. But travel soccer shouldn't be so expensive, or expansive.

What's with the tease? Who is this club, and where are they??

I saw that same ad, it was FCV and free rec was sponsored by a car dealer.

Yes that was it. I saw the ad on FB and couldn’t remember the club https://www.fcvirginia.com/recsoccer
