Not a whole lot in the way of local brick-and-mortar stores selling Hungarian products - on occasion there might be something at the German Gourmet on Columbia Pike, or the Russian Gourmet on Main Street in Fairfax.
Zingermans-Michigan and hungariandeli-LA? There are bricks and mortar stores selling the products from maybe northern MD up through PA-western NJ to NY. Why? Destination area for Aistro Hungarian empire immigrants back in the days of Ellis Island. Lots of eastern Europeans.

So sometimes Wegmans in that Phila to NYC market area has carried nutrolls and kiffles supplied by small businesses. Never had buttermaids. We received a baked goods product [not this type] and it was stale and yuck. We never have recieved stale and yuck from Kiffle Kitchen or Oh Danish bakery [makes those kringles sold at Trader Joes]. Do to popular demand and excess consumption by friends of DC's years ago I learned to make kiffles and nutroll.
