Schools consider early closing to be the absolute worst case scenario. If they have any sort of suspicion they can't have a full day of school, they will cancel school. Imagine the nightmare of sending kindergarten kids home early on the bus when their caregivers might not be expecting them because it's not their normal time? No. They won't do that.
MCPS has closed early for inclement weather several times before, and I don't see why they wouldn't again if the timing were such that it made sense.
