We take a lot of classes, walk and hike a lot, spend time with our grandkids, and we’ve started to travel a bit as Covid eases and intend to travel a lot more in the coming years. We really enjoy being together and it is like a second honeymoon for us. The sacrifices of our working years have definitely been worthwhile in our estimation.
Sign me up for this kind of retirement!
+1 except the grandkids part. We don't want any for a while because our kids would be college aged when we plan on retiring.
If I had a lot of time, I would probably work out more, which would help reduce my cholesterol and high blood pressure.
I would ..
-wake up later
-have a leisurely breakfast and coffee
-go swimming and then shower OR work in my yard and then shower
-go to the grocery store and buy fresh everything and cook a lovely meal with my spouse
That would be the "most days".
We would also travel a lot.
I am hoping we will be able to retire in four years when my youngest goes to college. We will be mid 50s/early 60.
