Ah, DCUM, never fails to tell me the question is wrong instead of answering the question itself!

FWIW this is for a special dish for someone who has requested it per a recipe they can no longer make themselves. So I'd like to stay true to the recipe as best as I can.

Great white are just fine. Cassoulet is a dish made from leftovers. There is no specific bean one must have.

I usually order from Rancho Gordo but I only need one pound, not enough to justify the shipping charge. Please suggest stores that carry dried cassoulet (or tarbais) beans in Northern Virginia (inside beltway) or NW DC. Thanks.
