I was thinking Cushings, too. I’m sure there are other cortisol elevating conditions, but that’s the only one I know of.

Yes, I have PTSD. I have tried meditation and left a high stress job for a much lower stress job. I exercise 30 minutes a day (4days weights, 3 days cardio). I never thought the PTSD would be connected. But now that you mentioned it makes total sense.

Yeah I’d bet it’s the trauma. I would look into that issue as it relates to cortisol. There is a cool YouTube video on different ways of dealing with trauma. It’s not long and the guy talking about it is a psychiatrist who first described the concept of PTSD.

Maybe you need meds to control the production coming from the adrenal glands.

What are your sources of stress?
I ‘m not sure of effects on my cortisol, but after adding yin yoga, my systolic blood pressure dropped from 110’s to 100’s and my resting heart rate went from low 60’s to mid 50’s. I use the Down Dog yoga app.

I keep having my blood work come back with high cortisol. I’ve tried various ways to reduce it but nothing is working. High cortisol makes it impossible to lose weight. Anyone have this issue? How did you get it down?
