My DC took the summer SAT prep class offered at Blair, and I thought it was very good at teaching test strategies and reviewing the concepts for the test.

Our child also took a class in August that basically consisted of taking several sample tests from the College Board website under timed conditions and reviewing the answers to see what they did wrong. You probably could do that at home if you're willing to structure it.

With those two classes, DC received a very good SAT score. I think it depends on the child what works for them, though.

Khan Academy might also work, but after so much distance learning, we wanted DC to have in-person classes.

Whitman has a test prep class as an English elective. DD’s counselor said it’s more helpful if students have had Algebra 2 before taking it.

Yeah, that's the same class offered at Blake. Other schools may offer as well -- look for course number NSS2000.
I have no info for the OP about the quality or content of the class. May be worth asking the English department at your child's school for a copy of the syllabus or other information.

Just email the company and ask for a SAT tutor for math and english. They should provide a curriculum.

MCPS doesn’t offer test prep. If it’s on the weekend at a school, some one had rented the facility.

It probably depends on the instructor. You can get SAT prep via the Tutor Me program and just get an SAT tutor. Its free. You could do both.
