General priorities list for resale, imo:
1) Tub somewhere near 2nd and 3rd (if applicable) bedrooms (can be in the primary if necessary)
2) Walk in shower in primary bathroom
3) Tub in primary bathroom

It’s ideal to have all three, but if space doesn’t allow, solve for one at a time.

Yes! I take a bath at least 3 times a week.

I prefer no tub in primary bathroom - I’d much rather use the space for something else. That said, there were to be at least one tub in the house.

No tub for us, we have a large walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. For giving young kids a bath, they each have tubs in their bathrooms.

I'd rather have a master bath with a tub, shower, double vanities, separate toilet room [preferably with a window]. Tubs come in all sizes and some new builds don't have them yet have showers large enough for a family of 5.

Why no tub when there is clearly enough square footage? Tubs can be heavy and even heavier when loaded with water. When we redid our master bath the contractor was most comfortable going with a replacement that duplicated the original build - weight and dimensions. No floor joist and beam issues. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/dyson-v8-worth-cost-13772127.html

Nope. Our house has three bathrooms and the hall one has a tub. There’s a full bath in the basement and we took the tub out when we renovated. So three bathrooms and one bathtub total.

I asked here back when we renovated and I remember people were really into resale value back then. But I think it makes sense to make decisions for your needs instead of a made up buyer years down the road.

I wanted a tub when we added a master bath but given the space we had a large shower made more sense. We would have had to squeeze things to include a tub. I thought I’d miss it but 10 years later still love the large shower.

Last house had the jets and heater, which I prefer, especially in the winter. Current house has a large soaking tub. I want a separate tub.

Yes, I care. I like tubs — and would be very unhappy with just a shower.

Or just shower is fine? I asked another question few threads back but wanted to simplify the subject to get more detailed feedback
