Don't really care. I wouldn't want it and I don't want it taking up space in the cabinets or pantry. The precise weight of sugar isn't going to make me reconsider. My kids aren't really into cotton candy either. They were served some at someone's home who had a machine and they took like one bite each and the novelty was over.

Thanks PPs for your input, I had also considered the little snow cone machines or the small donut ones. For those who would not want this cotton candy machine, what type of joint gift works best for these ages? (the family is exchanging joint gifts for children so our children would receive a joint gift of some sort in return)

Ha, same. My elem-aged kids don't even like cotton candy (but I do! mmm, sugar!)

I bought one once. It made a big mess and broke almost immediately. I felt bad throwing it in the landfill. But the kids did like it.

I would not want to have to store that in my house. It would probably get used once.

I would hate having this sticky mess maker in my house. Kids are 6 and 9. I'd check with the parents first.
