I read a book called Pem and Football in the 90s about a girl who was avoiding an arranged marriage. That was brilliant but I can find nothing on it anywhere. It's possible that I have the name wrong but I've searched for variants like "Gem" etc and still, nothing. Sorry.

The Far Pavillions

The mirror visitor quartet begins with an arranged marriage. I am not familiar with this genre, so I don’t know if it fits what you are looking for, but I really loved these books.

A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane. It’s dark and bloody and long.

Radiance by Grace Draven- it’s shorter with much nicer characters. Maybe more sci-fi because it takes place on another planet.

It’s so obscure and niche but I thought I’d ask. I read a book of this genre that a friend gave me in a book lot and I absolutely loved it. Anyone have any other recommendations?
