I would do something small for the baby like a chewy teething toy that wlouldnt have been handed down, a couple nice picture books for the older kids, and maybe a bottle of wine for the parents. Or baby socks. Baby socks never hand down because there is a monster that lives entirely by consuming on sock from each pair.
For some reason we got about five blankets with our baby’s name for our third kid. It’s a good thought but we got so many and they are hard to donate.
I agree with all of this, but instead of socks, I’d recommend a nice pair of baby booties (the ones with snaps or Velcro). My kids always kicked off their baby socks, and I always lost them in the wash, but booties stayed on and I could keep track of them better. Another idea is an Aden + Anais burpee cloth. You can reuse those, but still nice to have a new one/extra one.
Or an Uber eats gift card.
