Some schools have an athletic interest form that you can complete…you can search for that form. If they don’t have one let tell the admissions office about your child’s interest and also send the athletic director and coach an email.

Flag football is not football.

During the admissions process many schools provide opportunities to interact with coaches. I would recommend proactively reaching out to the admissions office to see if you can interact with the football coach to address your questions.

Anything that tells the admissions committee how your child spends his free time is important. It might not be a athletic scholarship type boost, but it's still an important part of helping the admissions committee get to know your child.

Usually schools have activity night or meet the coaches or whatever. Go talk to the football coach.

DS plays football for a DMV private/Catholic and the team is pretty good and LOT of the kids had only played flag.

“Fret over their snowflakes?” Don’t be naive about football. The brain trauma is not worth the money—not even the NFL-level money.

Yes, and you should reach out to the coach at the school or schools you are considering.

It couldn't hurt. Depends on the Admission person.

But if you are looking for the admissions "boost' that might occur from the Athletic Department (Football Coach) encouraging your son's admission, that probably isn't going to happen.

No. Many schools, particularly the smaller ones, allow anyone to walk on to football rosters. But…if you think his career in flag is going to help him with admissions, you are incorrect.
