It's the spare

I was told that the one on my Honda CRV 2011 had gone bad and would need to be replaced. I was quoted @ $200 to do this but ending passing on it.

I had this problem recently and my sensor was bad. I think they wanted something like 100 or 150 to fix it. I've driven for 30 years without any tire sensors, so I just put a piece of electrical tape over the light and called it a day

This - my Mom's Lexus has this problem. The spare would set off tire light.

We have this same issue on our Honda. We were told that the sensor is being triggered by the variation in tread between the three older tires and the one new one. The o my way to fix it is to replace the other tires. So, we just live worth the light.

You have to reset it yourself after filling. It's a setting called TPMS calibration in my CRV.

And yes, if I explore this further, I'm taking it to a different shop. To be a little fair, the lube center is separate from the service center, so I guess they just quickly looked and checked all the air pressure, but still.

There’s a section in the manual about how to do it (just need to select the right menu option and have the computer recalibrate the system). It’s not difficult, but it’s annoying and I have to look up how to do it every time! Hope that helps!

Have you tried turning off the light again yourself? I had a similar problem with my Honda Accord and had to google how to turn the light off after a tire replacement. When I turned it off myself, it stayed off.

Were the tires rebalanced? I also wonder about the place you took it since it since it took them two tries to notice a nail.

I agree with you that the light always being on means you will never have the benefit of the warning the light is supposed to give you, so that’s a bummer.

I have a 2016 Honda CRV. The tire light came on, so I took it in--the lube center said it was fine, probably just cold weather, they reset the light. It came back on. The service center found a nail in one tire and replaced it, and reset the light...light came back on.

The service center had my car for two days and tried a number of things, looking to fix a problem with the sensor itself. They gave it back to me and said "drive it around and bring it back if the light comes on, but it might not be worth exploring further." I drove it to the Midwest for Thanksgiving, and the light came on. The vehicle works fine and seems fine. Is this worth pursuing further?

I don't like the idea of actually having a tire pressure or nail or something in the future and not being aware because the sensor is permanently disabled, but...I don't know how big of a deal this is. Has anyone had similar issues?
