Did people provide any recommendations of offices that are more functional? I'm concerned about the hassle of moving to another practice only to find similar (or different) issues. Am thinking about trying the One Medical children's option in the burbs.

(Not OP). We waited 1 hour this week for a scheduled, routine baby check up. I really like the doctors but this was so stressful. We didn't get out of there until 2 hours after the baby's appointment time, and he was screaming. And I then had to call around the pharmacies of DC to find one that has amoxicillin in stock.

I think all pediatricians except concierge are moving to the well visit model — you come in for checkups, vaccinations, identity development issues. If your kid is actually sick, you take them to a pediatric urgent care.

Honestly that seems to be my PCP as well.

I’ve been disappointed in sick visits this fall — haven’t been offered anything sooner than a week out since September. But it’s been a brutal fall for kids illnesses (and they did the patient portal switch which means half the parents can’t book well visits online any more and have to call in for that too). I’m waiting until next spring/summer before looking for someone new.

Yes, also disappointed with sick appointments. I called at 7:00 am a few weeks ago, was the 13th caller and after 30 minutes of wait, I found out there were only 4 spots, which had already been taken. MD clearly has too many patients to read specialists reports sent to her.

Following. Our preferred doc seems to be pandemic retired, and we are on the fence to stay for a rotating cast of good doctors but rough experience overall

Anyone else struggling with CNPA Foggy Bottom peds office? While I love their MDs, I cannot make sick (or even well) visits in a timely manner, there are long waits, long hold times, etc. I am looking to switch pediatricians and wonder if anyone has recommendations in Dupont area.
