Wegmans has been jacking up the prices on everything. So has walmart and Costco. It’s a good thing dcum is full of people like the pp ☝️. Normal people are really struggling.

Yeah, rotisserie chicken is famously supposed to be a loss leader. It sounds like Wegman's has a problem with their supplier.
Safeway had rotisserie chicken for $7.99 and Giant for $6.99.

I saw a Reddit thread on this where someone who works at Wegmans said they had to switch suppliers because theirs stopped distributing chickens.
The new one charges them $7.99 ea and they are supposed to be higher quality and larger than before.
I don't see the larger size, though, tbh. I just bought one this evening and my partner and I easily ate the entire thing.

Prices will gradually come back down. Wholesale chicken breast prices (the only data I have handy) are down 70% since June.

The price jumped $3 last month from $6.99 which was already up from the $4.99 price pre-pandemic and $5.99 price during most of 2021.
They also seem to be much smaller than they used to be.
I used to run and grab 2 to make shortcut meals for the family but now at $10 each I probably won't.
I've tried the Costco chickens and my family didn't care for them. Anyone know their price? I may try one again if they're still reasonable.
