What is a 'most rigorous' box? Are you speaking literally, or are you asking if kids who take APEX are taking the most rigorous program at WJ? If you mean the latter, students outside of APEX can take just as many or more AP courses as those in APEX. With the changes to APEX in recent years, the only difference in the classes those students take is APEX English and APEX Biology freshman year and APEX English 10th grade year. Otherwise, the program is no different than the regular curriculum except that students must take nine AP classes to get the APEX designation on their diploma. I don't even think they do the senior seminar or project like they used to.

Does anyone know if current APEX seniors at WJ automatically get the 'most rigorous' box checked for college applications?
