I like to watch Little Women at this time of year, and I feel like reading it would also be nice (though I’ve never listened to the audiobook…)

Sarah Morgenthaler has a series of light Christmastime romances centered around a small town in Alaska — if you’re in DC, DCPL is featuring them on the e-book/audiobook main page and seems to have them available without a wait list

Audible has a ton of these in their free Romance collection. I have not read them but I see them. You can listen to a clip before commiting.

I'm hearing good things about "small things like these" but I'm still #20 on the waitlist so no idea.

I usually pick up a couple of light romances - This year it's "a Magical New York Christmas"

Agatha Christie has a number of christmas mysteries including some short stories that could be fun.

Last year I read Jenny Colgan Christmas Bookshop. and just for something different, The Matzoh Ball is a romance with Jewish leads that takes place in December. It was kind of dumb but still fun.

I haven't read your example books, sorry, but some Christmas-themed books the I like to reread around this time of the year:

The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper (YA fantasy but set over Christmas to New Year's and very evocatively snowy)

Envious Casca by Georgette Heyer (1940s murder mystery set at a Christmas house party)

Gawain and the Green Knight (Arthurian legend set over New Year's)

A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas (prose poem about Christmas growing up)

Every December, I listen to feel-good, often Christmas-themed books while decorating, cooking, and cleaning. In the past years listened to most (or all) of Fredrik Backman's books, and I found Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman to be similar. Any recommendations for books in this genre?

Thank you!
