First names

If your answer is Mr. President and First Lady, we know who you are.

First names mostly. If I’m referring to them to others, I often say my husband’s mother or father out of habit. It’s been over 25 years and we basically have zero relationship. I’ve never really thought of them as in laws.

I think culture plays a role.

I've seen people call in-laws by their first names, by mr & mrs last name, auntie and uncle or later by the same names as their grandkids call them, like pappy and gammy.

Sally and Hal. DH also calls my parents by their first names.

FIL goes by “the misogynist”

Their first names when I rarely see them. The get other names when I talk with my mom.

Mom and Dad…but I’ve known them since I was 20 (married at 24).

I call them by (first names), but in my large family, my parents are mom and dad to those who married in. They could choose how they were comfortable, and that is how they chose. We try to be the warm and welcoming types.
