OP here. Ah OK, I thought the weighting had already been included in the way the points are assigned. For example, for some classes each HW is only out of 2 points, so I assumed that would end up totaling 10% of the grade. Thanks folks!

You can look at the details of the calculations if you are in the app and click on "summary" which is in blue in the upper right.

+1
You can distinguish these, as they have a "PA" label (practice/preparation). In many cases, kids have 100% for this grade (10% of grade) so to see the kid's real performance, focus on the other categories (which are quizzes, tests, bigger projects, etc)

Homework is supposed to be only 10% of the grade.

If there are weighted categories, are you sure you’re allocating each individual grade to the correct category?

Also, in some of my kids’ classes, there are certain types of assignments that are graded for purposes of knowing how well you understood the material but are not factored into the overall grade.

I've noticed this for a couple of my kid's classes. Basically, the averages are just about 3% off what they should be. It's an automated system, so I'm not sure how this would happen, unless I'm messing it up, but I've checked a few times. Anyone else notice this?
