OP didn’t say, but maybe the child would feel uncomfortable? I know my older one would have been fine, but my younger one would have felt uncomfortable starting at age 4 about a new sitter putting a diaper on him.

Yeah, I would think of it like a nurse doing it. Not inappropriate. But I would use Pullups or Goodnites at that age (and those he can put on himself)

OP what time are you leaving? Could you put a diaper on him before you go?

We did diapers instead of pull-ups on my DD at night when she was 4/5. She was a very deep sleeper and pull-ups did not contain the pee well. Even the overnights were not absorbent enough, but diapers worked well. It was no problem. She could actually pull them down if she had one on and had to use the bathroom, which she did almost every morning. It was harder to pull it back up because sometimes it would pop open, but in the morning this didn’t matter since it was wet and she didn’t need to put it back on. But if she got up to pee early in the night, she just ask us to help reattach it.

In your situation, it d just put him in the diaper before you leave and let the sitter know that if he has tjj on use the bathroom before he falls asleep, he might need a hand reattaching it.

Can you put the diaper on before you leave for the evening? Make it an early PJ night.

The part that I go to on it not being a big deal is she will be helping with there bath so what’s the difference.

I’ve just never been a fan of pull-ups. They are expensive diapers, IMO. We did try a package one time about a year ago and most nights they leaked. Maybe it is time to try them again, maybe the Goodnites, I see lots of moms recommend them.

Or yes maybe the Pampers 360, since they are I guess built to absorb like a regular diaper.

Currently both my kids fit in size 6 diapers so that just makes it easier.

Try pampers cruisers 360.

Why no pull-ups?

Agree on pre-fastening it and showing him how to do it himself.

WTF. A diaper on a five year old is reasonable, but no to a pull up? Use pull ups and you son can put them on himself, easy breezy. It is totally inappropriate for ANYONE to still be diapering a 5 year old. Honestly what is wrong with you?

Can you practice with him so that he can put it on himself? You could prefasten one side or even both and then tighten when you get home
