Driving makes the most sense. The large ski parking area is adjacent to the slopes. We can't carry our skis walking long distances anyway, especially not in ski boots. Why are you opposed to driving?

We also drive but believe they will have a shuttle this year.

We also drive. Too much gear. We often change into our ski boots and leave our shoes, etc in the trunk of the car and then go from the parking lot onto the slopes. (Unless you're renting, then you'll want to wear your shoes in.) We park near one of the slopes, so that at the end of the day, we ski to the turn-off, and are close to the car (and don't have to go to the lodge, etc).

We always drive our car. There are several large parking lots right at the lodge/rental shop.

If you stay at the Massanutten resort, how do you get to the ski lodge? Is there a shuttle? Do you drive and park?
