wash the area with dawn dish soap as it breaks down all greasy stuff.
You may need to submerge in a solution a couple of times and scrub a bit. Then just use oxyclean, baking soda and original tide powder (not the pods as they have oily softners) and wash with a couple of extra rinse cycles.
Sweat wicking exercise gears trap a lot of grease and moisture with their wicking action. As a result you have the gunk buildup.
Another product you can use is Neurtogena Residue removing shampoo. It really strips out products from scalp, hair and any fiber.
