Babysitting. Kids home from school and mom needs a break. Also pet sitting. My local Facebook page is often looking for fill in help. She needs to advertise her services.

I’d also check with grocery stores. My DC cashiered last summer, and I got the impression that grocery stores are so short-handed they’d take any number of hours they could get. Especially around the holidays when they are extra busy and their usual workers want to take time off. (My DC worked a ton around July 4th.)

It's probably not going to be easy for her to get something for just 3 weeks without previous experience. I hire for retail and we don't, it's too much to go through all the company required on-boarding, training, etc. for that short period of time. Maybe something like Amazon Flex or gig work like Wag, DoorDash, Grubhub, etc... There are also apps now that you can sign up for short term temp jobs. That may be a good option to get something short term.

And is your kid was a counselor for summer camp, then surely you could consider looking into winter break camps.

DCUM had to get snarky. Of course I know the winter break camps. And it turns out fcps and mcps have different sub rules. I was just soliciting other ideas, or to see if anyone knew of an employer that was winter-break friendly.

Summer camp counselor (overnight.) she didn’t particularly love it either. She is home from 14 December until 10 January. So not that long, but long enough where she would drive me crazy if she just sat on her phone for three weeks doing nothing.

Most retail will want help before Christmas so typically don’t love college kids. My DD does pet sitting. I assume she will not be able to find a job at home even tho she’d love to waitress as she does at school. Honestly, this is why I’m a fan of J-terms. Get some credits in when there’s nothing else to do.

Any suggestions for work for my 19 year old home for winter break in a few weeks? Guess I’m asking for places that may do remote interviews for quick seasonal work where obviously not much training is involved, something at the mall maybe. Saw an ad for Macys, which mentioned an interview may not be necessary. But if someone has any suggestions as to who is a good winter break employer please post.
