Shredded Brussels sprouts. Wasn’t sure how they’d go over, but everyone loves them.

I also add a few dashes of nutmeg

I have encouraged lots of vegetables and fruit versus the heavy dishes. Also some in-laws to my family mean some outstanding international dishes not just the regular Thanksgiving foods.

I was coming here to post this. I made this Barefoot Contessa recipe last year and it was a huge hit.

A shaved brussel sprouts salad with orange segments, dried cranberries, pecans, and a citrus - olive oil dressing. Bright and fresh tasting, but with traditional Thanksgiving flavors. Don't have a real recipe, we used a few online sources for inspiration but basically ended up tossing together a bowl with whatever sounded good.

Just thought this could be a fun thread this year! Besides the normal fare, what is a dish you are trying new this year that is different or one you tried in recent years that was a big hit? It can be a spin on old ingredients or something totally different! Kind of looking for inspiration to put one 'different' thing on the table this year.
