Brother went to Langston after having lots of problems at Yorktown (most his own doing). He did much better at Langston and graduated on time. Later went to CC and transferred to George Mason for his degree. In my eyes Langston was the best thing that happened to him. His classmates there included troubled youth, pregnant teens, and others who have various challenges. He made better friends at Langston than at Yorktown.

One of my kids finished up there several years ago and went on to a four-year VA state college that’s often mentioned on this board. It did the trick for my kid.

Cool. I always assumed the pregnant teens ended up there. (my mom was sent to one when she was expecting me in 11th grade). Glad it worked for your child.

APS has a program for pregnant and parenting teens at the Career Center, including daycare

I took English and Art there in summer 1972, I needed two credits to graduate. I had attended Wakefield for all of HS but after I got my Langston credits I received a diploma from W&L high school even though I had never attended a class there.

New Directions is a secondary program that gives court-involved students with parole officers, a second chance. Langston offers students an alternative way to achieve a standard high school diploma. Additional information is available in the High School Guidebook.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Is a special education school? The quick google search I did gives pretty vague information.
