This is PP…embryos were frozen at age 42 also. It was quick since I was old and we were trying to make it work . Go for it!

My DD is 9 now and a product of a frozen cycle at dominion at age 42. We were unsuccessful with the “best” embryos in her batch so we were literally using up the embryos to check the boxes before we adopted. Already had one child but I was determined to have two so I get it, and do not think a full sibling is necessary. But if you are up for it definitely do a cycle. It can work!

Did you do local CCRM or CO CCRM? My experience was that CCRM CO is light years ahead and such a well oiled machine that it was actually easier to go there. Only took 3 quick trips and was well worth it. I had my CCRM baby at your age on my first cycle w/ them. This was after one success locally and then years and years of failures.

Agree. This was our choice and years out, we don’t regret it. Even though we didn’t get a sib.

This was our choice as well. I think we would have gone for donor if we could have reversed time and had a nice 2-4 year age gap. But once we got to that 6+ year mark, it wasn't the right choice for us. Our child is happy being an only and it feels pretty unfathomable at this point that we could have had a big kid and a toddler at the same time.

We worked with SGF and Donor Egg Bank USA (https://donoreggbankusa.com/). They have a 'catalog' of donors whose eggs are already frozen and you pick and purchase your lot.

We picked one lot of 6 eggs of which 2 made viable, chromosomally normal embryos. One of those was lost during thawing but the second stuck and is due to be born next spring!

I did the same 10 years ago twice. After 4 traditional rounds of IVF i decided to do donor egg (dozen) and It was by far a. Piece of cake in comparison. I was pregnant at 41 and 43 no problems - my kids are smart and beautiful. Pregnancies very easy. If I could go back and advise myself I would say don’t give DiMattina any more of your money - just go get some frozen eggs and enjoy your children.

Wait what? They stopped offering natural cycle? That used to be their big thing.

Yes, go back on this board literally a year ago this week. It was heavily discussed.

I would not waste my mental energy. Go with donor egg.

Are you doing stimed or natural IVF at Dominion? At your age probable natural IVF but you'll have to be ready for multiple cycles, but total cost is probably the same as one cycle of stimed IVF.

Natural IVF is taking one natural ovulated egg in one cycle and try to get pregnant that way. The good thing is that if the egg failed to fertilize or the embryo arrested before transfer, a portion of the money is credited to your next cycle. That's probably your way to go, but you have to invest in time for more than one cycle.

After 4 failed IVFs, we're thinking of doing a last one with Dominion fertility. I have cycled at SGF and CCRM. Made eggs but not good enough quality apparently. I'm 43, will be 44 next year. Have a spontaneously conceived 6.5 year old.
At this point, we've started talking about donor eggs. But we have little knowledge about DE, any pointers where to start looking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
