It would definitely work depending on how you season it.

The one time I hosted Thanksgiving, I knew I had to serve sweet potatoes, but I despise the traditional candied sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. I found, instead, a recipe for mashed sweet potatoes with sour cream and chives. They were the best sweet potatoes I’ve had, but that’s admittedly a low bar. Turns out my father-in-law felt similarly.

Yes!!!! I only like sweet potatoes with something savory to cut the sweetness. I usually use full fat unsweetened Greek yogurt, but sour cream would be equally delicious.

Lordy, I wouldn't even put sour cream in regular potatoes.

I'm not really a big fan of the maple syrup with sweet potatoes.

I'd probably love this version.

We will frequently bake a sweet potato, slather it up with butter. It's like dessert beside your chicken/steak.

Same. We do vegetarian chili over baked sweet potato boats. Sour cream would probably make them over the top.

Sweet potato fries are delicious dipped in sour cream, so I’m going to say yes.

Yes. I make mine savory with adobo sauce and I think sour cream would be an amazing addition !

I’ve made them with cream, so sure why not. The balance would be nice. I don’t know why we have to make them sweeter.
