30 years isn’t old. 50 years is old.

I trust Robert (mechanic) at Exon that used to be a liberty gas station on the corner of Twinbrook Pkway and Rockville Pike. 1900 RV Pike. Trust worthy; hardworking. Found out what was draining the battery on my car. Worked on it for hours (It was a second car) and charged me for 2.5 hours. It was a the radio. 2003 Lexus with 200000 miles.

Rising Sun Motors in College Park. They have a great team of mechanics and are worth it. They took care of several cars for us.

I take my 1992 Miata to DP Auto (David Pham). On Conn Ave at Fessenden. You are right to seek out a mechanic willing to work on old cars. I’ve had several highly recommended sops turn up their noses because “it’s so hard to loosen the part.”

You'd think that. But... Most shops I have called have said no because it's a finicky one to get to and they don't want the liability from a seal or gasket (even though I have spares of them). But yeah, I'm looking for plugs, timing belt/water pump, and the lifters to be replaced (have all parts).

You have a recommendation of one you are familiar with?

Try Cho’s auto in old town Gaithersburg. They specialize Japanese cars.

Anyone got a recommendation for a mechanic to service/care for a 30+ year old car, one that is fairly complicated to deal with at that? Preferably in the MoCo area, but could go North or East of that or into VA. Japanese vehicle from the early 90's, with low mileage, but needs big maintenance like timing belt.
