I can’t get over the ridiculous pricing of the real real. And apparently consigners make peanuts compared with what they are selling things for. I could buy new for many of the things that they are selling.

I have the same reaction to The Real Real. Most items are not much less than they would be new, especially the bags and jewelry. I’d rather spend a little more and not have something worn by someone else.

I have to disagree. I think you can find amazing deals on consigned clothing, and I’ve made 10,000 selling on the real real in 3 months. I would never take the time to sell piece by piece. It’s been a great experience selling with them.

Everything in store is cheap polyester or poly blends. My skin cries for help if I wear them. It is so irritating. I still have my solid cotton tops and cardigans from a decade ago. I’m glad I didn’t discard them

My issues with quality are things that don't wash well and therefore have a shorter lifespan. Otherwise I don't really have an issue with clothes wearing out or falling apart (and I'm not a big spender).

I don't buy polyster blend shells or thin-guage sweaters from Loft, for example, any more - they don't hold up after a few washes. But I have some heavier sweaters from there that have far performed expectations, as well as jeans.

Boden and Talbots are usually reliable for me.

It is so depressing that it's nearly impossible to find quality clothing - or most other products. Everything seems to be made to be disposable after a few years.

Agree that most brands have decreased in quality. I buy more vintage things off The Real Real these days.

I like the quality of Vince, Theory and Rebecca Taylor. They are all out of my budget so I shop for these brands at TJ Maxx (stores that have a big “runway” section) and Nordstrom Rack to get them at a deep discount.

Everything I have purchased from Ralph Lauren has held up for years making it worth the high, at times, prices. I've also had luck with Ann Taylor, Ann Klein, Boden, Rebecca Taylor, and Banana Republic (not the Factory).

It’s been years since I’ve bought anything, so maybe things have changed, but agree that RL is surprisingly good quality.

Now, none of them. All the clothing costs more and is lower quality than it used to be. If you try to find clothing that is wool, cotton, denim and doesn’t have synthetic fabrics you’ll fare better but good luck there. Seek eBay for quality clothing from any of these brands
