Personally I’d get a meal in a box and use nice paper plates. Not a fan of plastic silverware so I’d wash real ones.

Most people don’t use formal China anymore.

I do. But I also put it in the dishwasher.

Hand wash. Disposable plates and cups for the kids. Wash pots as you go.

Half the fun of Thanksgiving at our house is doing the dishes together afterward and chatting.

This, though we don’t use “good china”.

Why isn’t it an option to buy a dishwasher? All of the Black Friday sales have started. I would just pick whatever is in stock.

I would move to takeout but i’m not an experienced thanksgiving cook/host and it would be the last straw of stress for me. And I’d be relieved to have the excuse if I could afford to buy a nice spread.

Disposable plates/flatware. Only have to hand wash what you used to cook.

Just wash dishes. Can your formal china even go in the dishwasher?

Wow, OP. I am sorry. That is just ... not fun.

I can't see how takeout would end up being that many fewer dishes than cooking... and a ton of stuff can't go into the dishwasher anyway (at least at my house, it won't fit)... so I would just cook and recruit people into dishes.

Dishes for 10 is really not that big of a deal.

For 10, I'd just wash the bleeping dishes, especially if you're using good china.

I haven’t done shopping or prep yet, Dishwasher will not be available, would you move to take out? Restaurant? Or continue as usual - just wash the bleeping dishes?
