I don't see any problem with letting activists glue themselves to the museum floor; does that damage the art in any way?

Couple of thoughts:

- why are some of you on this forum? You seem pretty hostile to environmentalism.

- AFAIK all the targeted works of art have actually been behind glass. Still moronic, no priceless works of art have actually been endangered.

- there is some suggestion that this “attack an artwork for the environment” is astroturfed by oil and gas money to make environmentalists and, by extension, their beliefs look idiotic.

What does art have to do with carbon emissions?

That’s like cutting down a tree in Maryland because you’re angry about Russia invading Ukraine.

I wondered this too. Then I saw a segment where an activist explained that we are treating these art treasures as important to preserve for the future when there won't be a planet to live on in the future.

So by their thinking THAT makes no sense. They are not wrong.

Giving into blackmail only results in more blackmail.

They’re making greenie protesters look like fools, and I support their efforts given that outcome.

But how do you feel about cutting the speed limit on Austrian highways?

They also attempted to glue themselves to the museum floor.

A Gustav Klimt painting in Vienna was targeted with an oily black liquid by climate activists last night. They live-streamed their attack to social media.

They demand laws be passed to lower road speeds to a maximum of 62 miles per hour, claimed to save tons of carbon emissions. More attacks on artwork are promised unless the government complies with the activists demands.

Should the Austrian parliament submit to the activists’ demand?
