We did not get any comments on our report cards. Three kids. Zero comments. The report cards were useless.

Well, you were right! I miss the written comments, which always seemed to be by far the most useful part of the report card for elementary. I do appreciate the inclusion of test scores, but that doesn’t make up for it.
You should have received comments as they were a district-wide requirement.
PP. There were... sort of comments, but they appeared to all be just generated by checking boxes (like the middle school report cards were last year - I don't have a child in middle school anymore so not sure if that's still the same). Like, "demonstrated strength or significant growth on these skills/standards: Ask and answer questions about details in a text." There was nothing freehand written, except very short summaries about what the kids are learning about in two of the classes.
Did anyone else get actual freehand comments, about their specific child in elementary?
Both my kids received what you described. Usually I don’t care, but they are also suddenly pulling 2s instead of 4s. :/

Teachers were required to write comments at my school. I would mention it to the principal.
The new ones have brief comments. The old ones had more extensive comments.
Always started with a diplomatic, parent-pleasing sentence about the child being a joy to have in class.

Does anyone know when report cards will be available? Either in Aspen or sent home with kids? I can't get an answer at my kids school.
