Is she already in assisted living? Seems like now would be the time to move her if it hasn't happened already.

Does she have all her financial affairs in order? Do you have a power of attorney, healthcare proxy, etc.? Again, now's the time before her sight goes completely to make sure all that is nailed down.

I don't have any other suggestions but perhaps posting on the Health forum might generate more answers?

Interesting, the only people I know with RP lost vision in their 20s. But it would be helpful to get her orientation and mobility training. Get her whatever assistive technology/visual aids that she might need.

My 85 year old mom has retinitis pigmentosa. It isn't impacting her much yet, but we know it is just a matter of time before she loses her eyesight completely.

She has great physicians and is ok with this. I am too, but am wondering of anyone has experienced this and can recommend some resources for me to help her with this transition that is coming.
