They learned that abortion is a third rail and I don’t think we are going to see a lot of those “protected from conception” or bans at 6 weeks very much, but culture wars work great, immigration, trans and lgtb issues, drag queen brunches, kids’ indoctrination, parents’ rights to control education and so on are winners, see De Santis and Younkins. The only real polices of the GOP is more tax cuts for the mega rich, increasing debt, cutting regulations that protect the public, all-in on coal and oil, cutting services, “privatizing” social security snd Medicare (remember Paul Ryan “ instead of Medicare let’s give elderly people vouchers and then let have insurances fight for their business”- yes because insurances are going to fight tooth and nail to insure an elderly and sick person) . These policies are not very popular even with republicans. They will double down. The trick is stay away from trump’s style verbal excesses and saying same things but politely, like the governor or Virginia
