Also I Can Read "My First" books https://www.icanread.com/levels

I don't remember if at the same level, but my child loved Kingfisher Readers Level 1 for nonfiction.

All great ideas, thank you.

I couldn't find One Fish Two Fish over the weekend, but did locate Hop on Pop. And we read it together, with DS reading about half of it. It's fun as he's trying so hard to sound out the words. And he's accomplishing a lot. He's so proud of himself.

It's totally different from his big brother who could barely read, and then was reading chapter books in three months. But this was after he turned six, nearly two years older than my little guy. It so fascinating to experience the very different learning/developmental trajectories.

Hi! My four year old wants to read, just like his big brother. He works a bit on reading and writing at his Montessori school, but we are in no way pushing it. If he goes two weeks between books, that's fine. He's so young! He's a little sponge so I don't want to sleep on this window.

We gave him the Bob books and he's having fun with them. But I think a bit of variety would be good. Can anyone please recommend favorite books or series for VERY beginning readers? He's still in the "Mat sat on cat" phase.

He's into dinosaurs, outer space, superheroes, and animals generally, if that's helpful. I think we're going to start watching Super Why and Word World, too, as he seems to be learning from watching.

Thanks!!
