People do all sorts of crazy things to try to restrict their eating and lose weight (only eating certain hours / only eating certain types of foods / spending hours weighing and planning) - this literally achieves the exact same thing with zero thought, no obsessive behaviors...it just makes it so you naturally don't eat as much as opposed to having to try to force yourself to not eat as much through crazy rules
