Never. They were removed every day at indoor lunch. Children breathe at lunch. Virus spreads. No mandate to eat with masks on.

Then, clearly masking helps. This is not normal to have this many kids sick at once.

St Albans, GDS and many privates report a significant portion of kids out due to illness. 25% at St Albans and similar numbers at GDS.
It's probably getting up there for public schools as well.

A few years ago pre-Covid, our elementary school actually emailed parents telling us how many staff and students were out sick. It was something like 14%. They urged us to keep our sick kids at home and reminded us of the sick/attendance policies. So there’s a way of knowing, PP. I’m sure our schools will tell us when there’s a huge number out.

What percentage of your child's school is out sick? Practically everyone DD knows is out with RSV, flu, covid, strep etc.
