Since the pandemic, so many places are doing family style menus. I'd go with something that reheats well. Maggiano-like, or Chinese takeout.

This is a good idea. Hospitals are already busy. Please don't add to it.

People meeting a delivery person at a prearranged spot should not be a problem for the hospital.
OP, congrats to your friend.

+1 DH just went down to the entrance to meet the Uber driver.

But make sure the want this and it isn't a pain (like adding another thing to their list and the delivery could be ill-timed)

Agree with PPs that it's more helpful at home. It was so easy and convenient just eating hospital food honestly and it wasn't even that bad at ours.
OP again, this is exactly why I think I'll just do dinner delivery at home. I was imagingine only one of them being in the room with the baby and not wanting to leave the baby to go down to the lobby and meet the uber driver. It will be easier and smoother once they are home and can just answer the front door.

Yep or at home the Uber driver can just leave the food at the door if they aren't able to answer and meet him.

For goodness' sakes, just wait. This will be lovely when they get home.
That's what I said in the post right above. I was thinking of just having dinner delivered when they come home and I am asking for recommendations.

OP here. They live here in the DMV and will return with the baby soon. Maybe I'll just have dinner delivered to them the day they arrive.

They should but check where the driver will need to drop off. I work at a hospital and the staff gets very irritated if food deliveries show up in the ER driveway.

Not a problem but they will need to go down to meet the driver and it will help to figure out what door they would be at and coordinate that

My friend did not give birth but her baby was born last night and her and her husband are in the hospital with the baby, they have their own room. I want to have coffee and bagels delivered to them this morning. That shouldn’t be a problem should it? They are not in the DMV.
