I have an older pair of Sony mp3 ones that I’ve grown not to like. My wife and I share a pair of these https://shokz.com/products/openswim now. It’s easy to shuffle past her music to mine, and getting the purchased mp3s on there isn’t too hard. It does suck being limited to purchase mp3s, but I’ve not seen great reviews of any of the underwater specific systems (Bluetooth does not work-you Need a water specific transmitter/receiver system), or the ones that allow time expiring Spotify playlists. People talk about this all the time on triathlon forums.

I wouldn’t be able to get in my swim workouts without the music. With music, I’m good to be in there for 3000-4000 meters.

I'll play too.....I like to listen to music when I work out because it's a fun exercise and the music I play makes me want to move even more - so it inspires me to push myself. It also keeps me from getting bored and/or is a nice way to escape being in my head with my own thoughts. If I'm at the gym, it's also nice to drown out other people's conversations that I don't particularly want to hear.

I think its super cool that they make headphones for swimming!

I’ll play. I hate hate exercising but music makes it bearable. When I’m walking in the woods I enjoy nature’s noises.

OP here - some seem to have built in MP3 players, but that seems like a pain (remembering my iPod circa 2003). But also, theft.

My partner mentioned wishing he had something like this, so I thought it might be a nice gift. He doesn't typically like to buy stuff or shop for himself in general.
