OP here - the poo is in the woods, but is not anywhere that people would be walking into. Path, then grass, then deep impenetrable woods.

I used to do this and I would pick it up. Now I just walk in the neighborhood

Not good for the environment, and others might step in it if they take a couple steps off the path. You should dispose of it properly. You shouldn’t be leaving it behind anywhere.

I think if it’s right on the edge of the path yes. I step off the path all the time to let a bike through or someone with a stroller, it would annoy me to step in dog poop.

If it’s on the trail where someone could step in it I pick up a stick and swipe the pop off the trail. If it’s not on the trail I leave it.

No, the poo settles gently on the newly fallen leaves. In a few weeks, when the leaves turn brown, the crackle of leaves and poo will be heard.

We walk our dog on a path near the woods. Sometimes he poops in the woods at the edge. The poo is definitely in the woods. Do we have to bag it, or leave the poop to fertilize nature?
