Mine is trash, too. Just hit the 20k mark. But trying to remind myself I felt this way the last time I hit 20k word mark. Just need to keep going to the end. Even if the story ends up a failure, I’ll have learned a ton for the next one.

All first drafts are trash! The important thing is you made a good start on it.

I’m not doing a full 50k new story, but I’m working on one of my in-progress self-indulgent shorts (target less than 20k).

I wrote 761 words today, and 2708 yesterday. I probably won’t write more today because of time and a little bit of blockage. I started this on October 24 and am at 15.6k words. Hoping to finish by end of day Monday, I have one and a half chapters left, and then take a week to edit and re-write/refine.

Writing prompts:

Hero and villain fall in love over years of hunting each other down.

Spaceship breaks down in hostile planetary system. Inhabitants are in fact hostile. Many fans are hit with sh!t. Chaos and violence ensues. Turns out the spaceship entities were the bad guys all along.

Man keeps living life over from age 13 until 38. Can’t figure it out, starts killing self earlier and earlier. Maybe it’s a short story a la Steven king.

Woman turns into cat and lives best life in adult daughter’s life. Simply a study in contentedness and joy.

Epistolary steamy romance between the original Santa Claus and dude in the Easter Bunny costume, spanning decades of happiness, sorrow, and Business Time.

OK I wasn't going to do it this month but you've inspired me. Not sure what my word counts will look like but I'll come back and post later...

I'm not doing it, but if I would I would be doing this challenge with author Jayne Allen, which looks very inspiring and supportive.

To pp, even if you don't finish, you can still keep going! Bird by bird...

A benefit of discord is their sprinto bot, too. It will start writing sprints for you and whoever else to join. Can help with motivation.

No. I have three WIPs right now and will die of guilt if I start another one. It took me four months to get to 45k of a first super rough draft. No way am I pressuring myself to write 50k in a month in something new.

I will, however, keep working on my WIPs, but I do that every month.

If you want nano support, a discord writing group may be a good idea.

847, so as per usual I will be unsuccessful at completing a full novel. Still good to have motivation to get words on paper.

Good luck! November seems an odd choice to pick for the month. My DH tried years ago, but ultimately he's more of a short story writer.
