If you are looking for a special program, it helps tremendously to have a recent neuropsych that can offer support for the placement/IEP.

Reach out to this office to start the IEP process now. You local school won't be able to do anything until fall, and then it will take several months to get services in place. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/special-education/programs-services/private-religious-schools.aspx

Have you done a full battery of testing? Use that to start the IEP discussion.

Try to start the IEP process in advance (if you need one)

Just call the front office of the school you are inbounds for. They will let you know what you need. It's very easy to switch from private to public.

Once your kid is enrolled, you can reach out and start the process of getting either a 504 or an IEP in place. The counselor is for the 504, and the special ed teacher does the IEP.

Could anyone help me figure out what steps to take? We plan to move from our private to public for middle school. Who do we reach out to at MCPS? We no longer have an IEP.
