Subject: Advice on what to say for email to pull my daughter out of her preschool?

Just curious what kind of school are you sending your dd at age 2? I think ultimately, they won't really care because there is always another kid to fill your kid's seat.

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you've given Larla these last two months.
Unfortunately, due to my job location, we need to withdraw her as of December 31.
We will miss seeing Mr. Joe's smiling face at drop off every morning and will treasure the memory of Ms Jane's music concert.

Yes op just say that you are so grateful for the care they've provided, but though this is difficult a spot has opened up at the school you work at and it provides the opportunity to greatly reduce the commute time for you both which will be positive for your whole family. You can even say something like, as a teacher I know these disruptions are unfortunate but you think this it the best long term for your family.
Schools know these things happen! How could anyone not understand why you wouldn't want to have your daughter at the same school as you?? Of course that makes sense. I'm curious why she didn't start there to begin with? I'm sure there was a good reason!

Honestly, I think people who have or work with little kids get it. Life with little kids is hectic at best. And we are constantly struggling time to do more, fit in one more task, get one more minute with our kids and family. They will be understanding and supportive of you making the best choices for your family.
And, yes, they will call the next family on the waiting list before the ink is dry.

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you have been providing for Carla. Unfortunately, we have to change her preschool to the school I currently teach at as the commute & commuting costs are too much.

I do think you are overthinking. They aren't too interested in your hour-by-hour explanation of why she is shifting schools. You can easily just say that you think they are awesome but you're moving her to the preschool where you work. By the time they finish reading your note, they have already called the next person on the wait list.

Start with your purpose: notifying them that you are moving her and the date.
That’s enough, but since you want to say more, I’d suggest
- reason - you got a new job and need to reduce your commute.
- thank them for everything. If you have a sentence or two about why you loved it, include it.
