Yes I was. 🤓

Nerd = Not meaning particularly smart (I wish!)
Or even particularly talented either (No band or drama club geek.)

Just an overall nerd because I didn’t blossom until after High School.
And I never had nice, stylish clothing.

The good part about being a nerd in H.S. however is that after H.S., there was only ONE direction for me to go & that was up!!

Yes, a proud one, but prided myself with not having a niche. I had artsy friends, punk friends, traditional study nerd friends, an athlete friend, etc.

I think I had split identities in HS. LOL.

I would say I was a nerd at school--marching band, cheerleading, AP classes, drama club, etc. I wasn't really "friends" with any of those kids, so my "real friends" definitely gave me s*** for being a "joiner." (Yes, I'm GenX.)

Outside of school, I had parents who were divorcing and didn't pay a whole lot of attention to where I was, a part-time job, and was friends with older kids/college-aged kids and stayed out late partying on Saturday nights.

What can I say? I contain multitudes. LOL.
