Turn right and go down the hill on Wisconsin and there are quite a few options: compass coffee is the classic laptop work option. Also patisserie poupon, back patio at Christophe boulangerie, capital one cafe, and if you go even further toward the waterfront, grace street coffee and the dog tag bakery. If you hate walking up hills catch any 3o-something bus or the circulator going up Wisconsin from the stop near compass coffee. Happy working!

If the friend at Georgetown Hospital, can the OP go to one of the Georgetown University libraries?

This.

I have six or so cards for local libraries - see 'who can get a card" in the link below. Different local libraries offer different things in terms of online services.

Thank you so much! Do you know if I can get a library card if I don't live in DC?

For a day? No. And no you need to be resident. NP

Thank you. I want to reserve a study room - have a meeting - and they ask for a study card.

If its not busy and you're nice - the librarian might do it for you?

But you don’t need a card to sit in a library, only to check out books.

That's correct. Wifi is also freely available and if the person wants to get on a computer there are usually some that are accessible for non-library members. - same NP

Next week, I have to spend several hours in GT waiting for a friend. Need a place (coffee shop, library) with Wi-Fi to work. I don’t know the area well, where should I go? TIA
