$2K for parts and labor. Getting a new car will be A LOT more expensive than fixing your old Honda.
Take it to a cheap repair shop. I like these guys in NE DC, they are honest and you can save money by ordering parts yourself and getting them shipped to the garage.

Subject: Spent $5k on a car, what’s reasonable for a fix?
Prefacing this by saying I don’t know or care much about cars. We bought an old used Honda Civic hybrid for about $5k several years ago. It just broke down on me on the drive home and figure any potential repair will be pricey. Given the current market and how much we spent on it, what’s reasonable to spend on a repair for a old used car vs just calling it a day and letting it go. We dont want to spend more than $15k on a new car.
